Is it time for a new Will?

Life moves at such a fast pace, doesn’t it? People move home, kids grow up, grandchildren are born and sadly friends and relatives die. Because of this, it is important to check your Will from time to time to make sure that it still reflects your wishes. It may be time for a new will.

What is an old will?

I meet many clients with old wills. The most common example of this is when their children have reached the age of 18. Now they no longer need guardians or Trust Funds. Also, after 18, your children can be your executors, so there is no longer the need to include other people in this role if you do not wish to.

It is also worth bearing in mind that the Inheritance Tax regime changes from time to time. For example, since 2006, there have been several major changes to the Inheritance Tax rules, and you need to make sure your Will is still written in a way to save maximum Inheritance Tax.

If your Will is out of date, please call for an appointment and we will be happy to help you rewrite it to reflect your current family situation. Do not delay!
